Man on Wire is not a typical documentary story for typical people. Itrsquo;s an extraordinary story of an extraordinary man who plans one extreme goal to move mountains hellip; and actually does it! He is a slightly eccentric, 25-year-old Frenchman who sets out to walk on a thin wire between the twin World Towers. Thatrsquo;s something yoursquo;d never hear your coworker or neighbor attempt to do.
People like him prove that anything, even the impossible, is possible. Although millions of people watched him achieve his goal and he committed a crime in the process, a goal as extreme as his can still relate to ours. For instance, if I wanted to become the most successful (fill in the blank) person) in the world or the first person to accomplish something big like (again, Irsquo;ll fill in the blank), I feel more confident hearing about stories like these. Surely, Man on Wire makes me want to move mountains. It also makes me rethink my attitude when I say that I canrsquo;t do something.
Of course, many people would call this man a crazy. But if you have his kind of drive and passion to conquer, even if you donrsquo;t have a lot of ldquo;backuprdquo; like people who support you (or money in some cases), then you can accomplish anything you want. Then in the future, you and everyone else will look back at your accomplishment, though previously impossible, in total awe. Yoursquo;ve inspired yourself, now you want to do more as you inspire other people to rethink their opinion of impossible. To me, this kind of drive, passion, and goal-setting is what makes life worth living.
I like inspirational stories whether on TV or in movies, but since I also like extreme sports or feats, too ndash; like people who do exceptionally crazy or wonderful physical feats ndash; this one is on the top of my list.
